Modeler to join their growing Business Intelligence group in their

Job Summary:
This position designs logical and physical data models to support
the data warehouse and data marts as part of the Data Acquisition
and Delivery process.
Essential Duties:
- Transforms business requirements into conceptual logical data models
and identifies data sharing opportunities.
Participates in design of the data warehouse staging layers and data
marts.
- Participates in the development and maintenance of the meta data
repository.
- Analyzes database and business systems in order to perform data
modeling (high level conceptual business/data models, entity-
relationship logical data models, and detailed physical database
design models).
- Provides guidance to development applications by applying knowledge
of data warehouse design, development, and implementation concepts
including operational data stores and data marts (logical and
physical).
- Builds and maintains logical and physical data models and process
change requests to those models to support application design,
enhancements and
performance improvements.
- Manages data models and associated Database Definition Language
(DDL) scripts through the development lifecycle using source code
control tools.
- Reviews reporting/analytica l requirements and/or existing SQL
queries and develop dimensional models that simplify the SQL
required to perform OLAP analysis.
- Defines dimensional models in a semantic layer and develop SQL to
define views to expose data stored in 3NF modeled tables in the
dimensional views.
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related
technical field required.
May substitute an equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in data administration activities and logical
and physical data modeling required.
- Experience with performance tuning of analytical data systems.
- Experience in creating designs for enterprise warehouses, data
marts, data cubes preferred.
- Knowledge of data elements used in healthcare provider systems
strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of best practices in logical and physical database design
required.

This position oversees development of standard data definitions
across One IT. This position will ensure the quality of data within
the meta data repository and as related to testing plans and data
cleansing.
Essential Duties:
- Leads efforts to standardize data definitions and ensure consistency
across CHI.
- Maintains and publishes data definitions and business rules within
the meta data repository.
- Develops data cleansing solutions for data quality issues.
- Develops project and testing plans and testing strategies related to
data quality.
- Builds and maintains the data dictionary and meta data repository.
Education:
- Bachelor degree in computer science or related technical field
required.
- May substitute an equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years experience as a data administrator in data warehouse
environment required.
- Experience with data dictionary tools and documenting metadata for
warehouse environments.
- Experience with data standardization projects.
- Knowledge of data elements used in healthcare provider environment
strongly preferred.
License/Certification:
